Aldi were having a clearance sale and I picked up a Medion 12 inch Windows 10 powered netbook thingybob for £99.99. First thought, what the actual Jesus tap dancing Christ is that "Edge" browser all about?? What does it give the "Edge" over? dial up?? Awful!!!

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
"Edge" is still rather an unknown quantity - does seem to have a lower memory requirement than IE however (my ACER N2620G nettop has both running & Task Manager shows the relative memory requirements when running both).

OTOH, WTF lead you to buy something like that - even at £99.99 - as it probably only has 2GB of RAM and B'all storage to start with?

Better deals out there - a couple of yrs ago, I got the "second user" ASUS netbook (11.6" screen, AMD "E450" dual core processor, 32oGB disk, lovely k/b although US layout - which was fixed -, 2x USB2 & 1x USB3, HDMI & VGA ports, 6 cell battery, W7 Home Premium) I'm writing this on for £125, and there must be better deals out there now!:rolleyes:

The Edge appears to store every single keystroke you make....
I did a few experiments using Ccleaner and noticed that to just go to three websites with Chrome compared to the edge and despite having Ashampoo and another (whose name currently escapes me) flavors of blocking software. the information collected increased by a factor of 8 using the Edge, so be warned

@Topper

Interesting & worrying - but not surprising, given what has been widely noted about the ways that W10, and its constituent programmes in general, gathers info on what you are doing.

Therefore, as has been said many times, you need something to stop it sending that back to MS - taking tips from what I read here and elsewhere, I downloaded Shutup10 before I upgraded several m/c's to W10, and then immediately ran it to block most, hopefully all (??), the spying and feedback.

Also, on any Windows m/c, I would, and I do, to try to set the browser to ask my permission to accept/reject website cookie requests - and only accept 1st-party requests when I think I have to, and routinely reject all 3rd-party cookies (of which there can be huge numbers in many cases on sites like ebay and so on). That all slows down browsing at times, but hopefully stops a lot of phishing and pushed advertising.

OTOH, that reminds me that I must find out if/how you can do that in Edge! :(
