Juttery playback from recorded programs (DM500)

My Satellite Setup
1.1m Triax dish, TM2300 motor. 2 x DM800HD, 1 DM500, 2 x Sly HD. 1 60cm fixed (Astra 2D).
My Location
Ireland
I have a DM500 and a network share mounted. I can record programs no problem but when it comes to playing them back the video jutters and stutters a lot. This happens when playing back on the DM itself or on any other device (I have tried 2 PCs and 2 laptops, all the same). The last attempt was on my media server, which is a really good spec machine.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I am running this on a 100Mb network so bandwidth couldn't be the issues, its all standard def material too?

Anyone?

BTW, I have tried others images too, with the same outcome, this one at the moment is Gemini 4.6,
 
How are you playing the files back ??

I always use VLC media player which I find is great.

Also you should get all your codecs up to date (if you aint done this already)
 
I used VLC on the PCs and also all usually codec packs installed.

I didn't make it clear that it also plays back with the same problems on the Dreambox itself.
 
I have this problem on the PC, I think it is directshow filter related, plays fine in VLC.
