I wonder if a BBC converter we bought with the SL3's would bring this LNB into the 18GHz range??
Possible but doubtful ..
I rather suspect the front end of the lnb would be restricted ..both by oscillator frequency and comb filters..
It might be possible to stretch the operating range a little by tweaking for wider IF ...but doubtful you could shift a whole band without major structural change to the lnbs front end..
Filters likely employed to prevent add and subtract ..ie osc + IF ...or osc - IF only ..not both..

Did you get yours, Llew? The seller has continued to put one at a time up as an auction.
Some testing today with a FD1000 feedhorn borrowed from the Hughes Band A LNB. Works OK on several data feeds, e.g 11.8E RCSMAP 8dB on the TD88 dish.
Need another FD1000 really, Satshop24.de used to do them. Mine came from Korea, so may have to try kim again there I suppose.
On my Promax I can see some vestiges of TPs at the higher end of Band B (Saorsat 9E, and 0.8W), but nothing peeping through with the TBS 6983 using Crazyscan.

Myself and scopus have had some FD1000 feedhorns from Feedsat's friend at a fraction of the cost from elsewhere Llew, link below.

Buy those LNBs with confidence. I have bought 2 for myself, too even I alreday have 2 brand new ones.
Why? Because I may need them at some point later on for some project or as back up. Also, Norsat may stop manufacturing them as their site has started showing model 9000C-2 Ka DRO which has LO stability ± 2MHz. To pay for a PLL LNB makes no sense for this chunk of band and ±1 MHz is still damn good!
They do not come with any screws or O ring, but in my case I have (as always) some spare ones even Ka band ones were delivered from the US vendor with those new LNBs. Fixing holes are originaly for Whitworth thread.

But if you need spare O rings (gaskets), I`ve bought various from here as I need spare ones for different LNBs/OMTs and every LNB/OMT had different size of the gasket. O Rings & Rubber Seals|High Temperature O Ring Suppliers|Polymax UK
