From another forum but please help keep F1 FTA

Petition: keep F1 (Formula 1) on free to air television

"" From 2019, Formula 1 will no longer be shown on free to air television in the UK. All rights have been purchased by Sky which means the only way to view will be by paying a monthly subscription. The British GP is the only race that will be shown for free. Please sign if you think this is unfair. ""

The more that sign this petition the better chance to keep F1 FTA

Regards

I'll sign but I think it's a done deal. Good luck anyway.

F1 is a global sport. The UK Government has no control over the associated TV Rights and, much as I sympathise with the cause, using the UK Government's Petitions facility is improper and inappropriate, so I most certainly won't add to the pointlessness of this F1 submission.

Even with more than the necessary number of votes, the most that one can expect is a bland and ineffective Statement from a Junior Minister and a Knighthood for St. Bernard.

According to the F1 Forums I occasionally indulge in, Live Web Streams are by now a widespread method for viewing.

As a non UK resident also use live streaming:D

But oppose sky getting the monopoly for this sporting feature.

How much more money went into the sport? Professional sports need revenue and casual viewers provide little.

And all the self serving politicians can rub shoulders with Z list celebs and spout about what a triumph it all is.

I've found that I'm not allowed to sign the petition because I'm not a UK resident.....not that I think signing would do any good..

If you're a UK citizen you can sign, you don't have to be a resident.
Also if you wanted to vote and you've been a non resident for less than 15 years, you can eg for the EU referendum.
