Keys in the blue panel...

Hi can anyone tell me if you still have the "KEYS" line in your blue panel on your drambox? I used to download keys ftom there but now the "KEYS" line has disapeared... Do you also face this problem!!!???

Only just started using the DB again in earnest as the footy season has started, I was spoilt in the past by the lazy mode of updating automatically via the blue button.
So have been forced to bite the bullet and find out how to do it 'properly', think I have sussed out what to do, seems fairly straightforward.

Formatted the USB and had a fresh start.
Installed the official Release 1.10 in flash, then thought would go for 'SatNews DaVinci 5.8 R110' to USB as presumed 1.10-based.

Found a rar of ....tar.gz EMU files on the F**F*les site, put the camd3.853 one in /tmp and ran the 'manual install' from the SDT boss panel.
So far so good, now have an EMU cam to play with, but of course not much use without any unmentionables..

Found a camd3.k**s file from the same place and dropped it in /var/k**s, restarted the cam but nowt.
Well not quite nowt, if just left for a few minutes the channel would clear for a couple of minutes then just freeze, so I am nearly there.

Any advice appreciated, or maybe a better combination of image and cam perhaps?

There may be better ways of doing this but I'm using evocamd and am watching football on TPS.

I have the latest TPS_AES.txt and also the camd_cfg file from the MgCamd post. I have the satan dream key updater script plugin (see same post)- this will download the latest keys at the press of a button.

Yes, I used to watch it on TPS last year using Hydra and it's magic 'download everything' options, which are now of course long gone.
Which firmware image are you using?

the post I mentioned has a plugin that downloads keys from the blue button.

But it appears not to do tps_aes.txt so tps is black ...

Well, I think the thread says it all. With Gemini, evocam and the camd_cfg file I have posted in the thread mentioned you can watch TPS without problems, it will update on its own. I had the TV on TPS since midday, and we watched first the Manunited game, then the Bayern game and it always was running....
So load up evocam, get the keys from satandream and insert the camd_cfg, chmod and reboot and you should be ok!

I have evocamd, keys from satan and your camd_cfg (into var/keys; if elsewhere you didn't say where to upload it to?).

chmodded camd_cfg to 755 and no tps last night after about 10pm

Had to leave this for a few days and have just come back for another fumble.
Still can't get it to work.

Wiped the USB stick again and installed a slightly later Gemini (Gemini_310_DM7000_22082006.img.zip) - I had a '300' version before.

From the blue button 'download and install' got the Evocamd-2.11 which installed ok and I could start it.

Put the Satan.tar.gz in the /tmp folder and installed it as a manual addon.
Stopped/started the cam and the T*S channel cleared and there was the footy!
Whoop-de-doo...
-but after about 30secs it froze and that was the end of my short-lived success.
Even manually adding the satan file again does nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

You've done it correctly.

tps keys change every 10 minutes so you either need an updater that works or keep adding new keys to TPS_AES.txt and keep uploading it to var/keys

maybe the link you put inside the camd3.config file could be a better link, that updates quicker?

Right - cuold be my problem, I don't seem to have a camd3.cfg file.
Should it be in /var/keys folder?
If so, where is it lurking so I can try editing it and copying over.

edit it using either ultraedit or editplus

otherwise you will chang the format when editing (as well as it being easier to read )

youshould put this at the end of the file

Right, thanks, yes you mentioned this MgCamd thread before and I couldn't find one.
Just did a search on Mgcamd from the top of the tree which threw up 62 results but nothing obvious, could you give me a clue please - maybe when it first appeared.

I read through that thread on mgcamd and got a severe headache, very interesting though, one day I will understand it all!

Ultraedited the camd_cfg, copied to /var/keys, 755'd, rebooted, still nothing.

I feel I am going round in circles so will try again tomorrow after a few beers tonight to reset my brain.
