No there isn't such an LNB, probably not the easiest thing to do give the wide range in frequencies would mean some compromises would need to be made.

I believe any receiver should work although if they aren't setup for KA the frequencies displayed on the box will be wrong and you'll need to do a bit of maths to figure out the right frequencies.

A Ka / Ku lnb does exist in the USA ..
Problem it only covers part of Ku ..and 2 bands in Ka ...
And it's cicular polarisation not linear ..
..and it requires an in line band converter for one of the Ka bands as this what the American set to boxes use ..
Designed for DirecTV ...and superceded by a more complex SWiM dual Ka / Ku lnb ..
This covers the same frequencies but requires the dedicated control signals generated by the DirecTV set top box..
I have had some success with the SL3 earlier version in conjunction with the convertor ..but it ain't for the faint hearted ..and much less effective receiving linear (Europe) than it was designed for (Circular)

So the answer is ..yes it is possible to make such an lnb ..but would be an expensive device and difficult to make it cover all 4 sub divisions of the ka spectrum ..it being 4 times wider than ku..without some sort of dedicated internal band switching.

Hmm, I remember reading about your US LNB experiences but I had assumed (wrongly, it seems!) that the KA and KU bands where effectively separate LNBs in one mould looking at different satellite positions (like a mono-block).

Well they sort of are Timo ..
but mounted on one pcb ..and interact only for power and switching..

Interesting perhaps we will see such a dual band LNB eventually as I see apart from the RTE channels there is now quite a few channels on 16 east also

Maybe one day ..but for full coverage we'd need a 6 band lnb
2 Ku lo and hi ...and 4x Ka ....all six with H/V switching ..
That's quite an ask.

The New Technomate TMF3/5 receiver has just had a firmware patch to enable KA band frequencies although when the attached note says something like could someone please test does not inspire me with confidence although if true this is one of the Hubtech clones so the DrHD D15,CT4100 should also be receiving a similar upgrade

A little slow in their upgrades aren't they? My DR HD F15 with a Jan 2012 patch is Ka capable.

Just read the Note which says this: Anybody with Ka band LNB type. defaulted TP is in Eutelsat KA Sat 9E if you find more TP IS in other satellite please test.

Which i assume they mean they have been added by default instead of doing a manual search
