I have decided to replace the very old distribution unit in my loft. I have been looking at the Labgear HDU681 which seems to be perfect. I have one sat down cable plus 2 coax cables (one can be used for the RF return). I read on an old post by Spiney that some Labgear products “have low terr/sat isolation (in my opinion, unacceptably low!)”. Does this fault apply to this unit as it is important that there is no loss on the DTT signal. I am only intending on connecting SKY+ and DTT at present, so please can you advise if this will be OK. If not, can you recommend an alternative UK product with the same features in the same price bracket.
Thanks for your help.

Can't easily find the full spec on that unit, but have seen them in use and they work well. You say you have Sky+, but only one satellite quality downlead, have you run the other satellite feed externally?

PS. If you have the option, it is always better to run the satellite feeds separately, less chance for attenuation or noise introdution.

Thanks. The single sat down feed is currently external to the old unit. Unfortunately the cabling is all plastered in. I do not have sky+ yet, just about to upgrade, another reason for the new unit as it only requires one sat cable down from the loft. Also, can I assume I do not require a diplex plate at each outlet, if I do not input any FM/DAB.

Yes, if you don't input DAB or VHF, then a diplex outlet plate is not needed on the non-satellite outlets. :)
