I like the genuine foreign lagers (not the stuff thats made in the UK using a brand name - next time you are in the supermarket check out where the "authentic" Indian Kingfisher lager is brewed..... They tend to be a bit sweeter than UK stuff. UK brewed lagers also have too much CO2 pumped into them, and can be a couple of percentage ABV points weaker than the genuine equivalents.
When Im abroad I always drink the local stuff - and if I can find a dark lager Im a happy chap. Ive found gorgeous dark lagers in Slovenia, Montenegro, Copenhagen, Bertesgaden & Prague
