I apologise for the low-keyness of my question,but:why would we want a sourceless LNB(LNB sans source),when so many have one?
And can this be profitable when using an offset dish,
or is this especially suited to prime focus dishes? just wondering.
Concretely,how could I use a Source Ku 40mm Laminas on my offset dish?
Would that provide a stronger signal?

hi - i will be conducting an experiment with my Laminas to see if any gains can be made over a standard setup.

i am going to be trying a Channel Master, a Gibertini and possibly a Laminas feedhorn on my Laminas 1.2m

i will be trying different LNB positions (focused on dish face), and then different feed horns, just to see if there is any improvement to be made over the standard holder and a LNBF.

i will also, be trying a standard universal Smart Titanium LNB converted to fit the c120 feedhorns and report back

Thats a better price, It's looks like Laminas feedhorn but interior seems to be square ?

Standard single polarity feed for an offset reflector, 23mm diameter

In combination with the Depolarizer one gets dual polarity.
XM-611 has a rectangular WR75 waveguide so can be fitted with a standard universal LNB like NJR2842, no C-120 flange.
Anyway, for 25€ a great new feedhorn.

Nothing new, same thing as the dielectric plate in C-band feedhorns.

Price of the depolarizer? I snapped one from Ebay for 35€ a couple of years ago.

Just a different way of doing things I suppose, do all bolt holes line up with the rectangular output ??

I don't have this particular feedhorn so I cannot tell for sure but ... I guess so, it is (SMW) standard.

Is this the SMW depolarizer and plate you are referring to, now mounted on an LNB with a flange?
