For several weeks I have had a problem with my SF8008 mono tuner: The network connection goes up every 4 times during boot.
This problem persists with openatv 6.3 or 6.4, but curiously no problems with open pli or open Vix!!!!!!
I have a second sf8008 (combo) and this one has no problems. I swapped the two devices and the sf8008 single worked instead of the combo.
I thought it was an RJ45 switch problem but despite all my permutations I still have these Lan connection faults.
I thought it was coming from the 12V power supply because by changing it it worked again but after half an hour the fault had returned!!!
You might think it comes from the SF8008 but it works with images other than openatv.
I'm open to suggestions!

Why do you use such old images? Have you ever tested an OpenATV7.3 or 7.4?

Is it possible two bits of equipment on the network have the same IP address? Ive seen some weird things happen in the past when the same IP is allocated to 2 devices.....

Was the image installed and set up on an SF8008 and then backed up then the backup uploaded to other SF8008s?
Double IP assignment could also be a reason (DHCP?) and check the router.

This is the reason for which I do not use DHCP in my home network.
I think that assigning a specific IP address to each device in a well organized network can avoid any possible (and sometimes difficult to solve) IP conflict.
In my opinion static IP is the best choice not only for large business netwokrs but also for little home networks with only 10 or less device connected.

Its all very well planning a static IP table for your home network, but it takes a lot of resolve to keep things up to date. I had mine all set up with statics for years - then varuiosu sh1tty bits of equipment wouldnt fall nicely into the static table. (Technomate Im looking at you!) Plus all the extra stuff wanting IPs all the time - phones, tellys, sky boxes, streaming boxes, nas boxes, 2 for computer with wifi & lan conections.

Thenn you change provider or your router dies & everything gets bollixed up with the new kit they supply.......

Agreed. Mine were all assigned fixed IPs but a router reset cocked it all up. I compromised and only permanently assign items I need to dig into his a web interface eg Humax HDR and Printer. The rest fends for itself.

I have a livebox5, I assigned the addresses from this box, the configuration is memorized and is repeated if you change the box.
no address conflict.
the old box (adsl) was in 100mbps as well as the switches, but the new one (fiber) is 1000mbps with still switches in 100, the strange thing is that the sf8008 combo works but not the sf8008 single. maybe the ethernet circuit is different?
I just put a simple wifi key on USB 2.0 and I was able to configure it using WLAN and it works!
I even reinstalled an old version openatv7.1 and it's still not good with the network cable.
even switching to a fixed address without DHCP it's the same problem, it could well be the receiver itself??
does someone knows where is wlan config file ?

Try using Telnet on the box where it doesn't work.
Maybe swap the switch where the box is attached or put a new network cable directly to the router and connect the problem box there.

Not sure what a 'B-Grade gold' is, are you running just one image inside or has it got multiboot ?

Serial numbers may assist in determining what specification chipset is actually inside (unless you want to take the lids off).

Not sure what a 'B-Grade gold' is
Probably a lightly soiled one of these:

Interestingly that post from Octagon Germany says the Gold version does have gigabit LAN.

the LAN circuit of my sf8008 no longer works after a few moments (1 hour)
I would like to put a USB to LAN adapter,
how and where to put the W7 (or linux) driver for this module in the sf8008?

The CoreChip-sz SR9700 is just a USB 1.1 10/100 Ethernet adapter.
Have you tried setting the Ethernet to 100 via Telnet with the ethtool?
