Gives a warning that it is not - really - compatible with Windows XP.

But I'll try it anyway and report back

It's installed (8.1), but it did request deleteing version 7 first.

I removed Java when there where all the security issues with it a while back and luckily I haven't needed it since. At least it is one less thing that doesn't need updating now.

Now if only I could get rid of Flash...

Talking about adobe flashplayer read this:-

A critical vulnerability (CVE-2015-0311) exists in Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.287 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
