ITV have fallen out with Sky over the launch of ITV4 (sound familiar from the launch of ITV3??). Its now quite possible that ITV4 will launch on 7th November instead of 1st November.

The first programme to be shown on the new channel on 1st November will be Chelsea v Real Bettis in the Champions League, although unless the dispute is sorted, satellite viewers will be denied the game.

Radio Service BBC World Service Extra has ceased off 902, and been replaced with BBC Radio London. (Available to London area only on epg - can be tuned in via add channels - services, 4, 4 before anyone asks - using 10803H SR22000 FEC5/6. Then use other channels - services 6 - to listen)

Sky Three has started epg testing on 12226H tagged as 5103. Channel is carrying a rather nice silver sky logo pic. Launch onto epg 108 on Oct 31st.

Radio Netherlands are planning a full radio service on Sky in the near future. In light of comments on one of the other forums I use, several other international services are planning launches in the no too distant future as well. (no details yet, you will know as soon as I do!)

Vectone Mall has finally been renamed Vectone Sinhala on 696. They will be moving to 831 on Monday.

Grampian and Scottish TV are to launch a Gaelic language channel in early 2007.
Gaelic channel gets greenlight for 2007

Scottish TV and Grampian TV are to contribute £1.2 million towards a new Gaelic TV channel, Ofcom has announced.

Earlier this year, the regulator recommended that the commercial broadcasters establish the dedicated station in conjunction with the BBC. In return, Scottish and Grampian would be allowed to reduce the amount of Gaelic programmes shown during primetime on their respective channels.

“Ofcom's agreement with Scottish and Grampian represents a positive step forward in the progress towards a digital channel dedicated to Gaelic viewers," said Vicki Nash, Director of Ofcom Scotland.

The channel could be on air by January 2007 at the earliest
