Latest VIX image and new VU duo

My Satellite Setup
Gibertini 1.5 dish, Gibertini 1.2 to motorize, Funke 1 mtr motorized.
VU+ Duo,3 dreamboxes,2 Foxsat hdrs,, 3 digiboxes and relook 400s.. Satcatcher mk4 Nit, Satlink 6908 and an old Lacuna.
My Location
Granada, Spain
I am expecting the above to arrive today. My question is it says to update the bootloader first is this correct? I think that the box will have original firmware.

Secondly if I want to try another image pli etc, will i have to change the bootloader? Maybe I should try an image that doesn't require a bootloader update first.

Updating the bootloader is required for all the latest images, you have nothing to loose by doing this as you can also use older images with the update.
The most important thing is to use the CFE update for the DUO and NOT the SOLO as some have manged to get mixed up, this will brick the box.
 
Cheers sonic1 I have had it running for a couple of days now seems very good but I get crashes when restarting or changing cams, on to Black hole now.
