trying to realing my 90cm

theres two adjustmnt points with degress on them, do i set both to my location? which is 51

get 45w, 43w, 30w, 1w , 13e and 19e and 28e, but cant get 42e, which i should beable to do.

if i put a little pressure forcing the dish upwards 42e pops to life,

its been many years since i set it up, so cant remember what to do exactly?

i think the signal could be better @ 1w

Hi,
What type of motor have you got?
Are you using an H-H motor, or a polar mount with actuator?

For an H-H motor, there is a scale on the motor itself, that should be set to your latitude if it's marked 'Latitude' or (90-latitude) if its marked elevation.

For polar mounts, the adjustment that changes the 'antenna pivot axis'
should be set to your latitude. The antenna pivot axis will then be aligned with the earth's polar axis.

For tweaking the arc, you have to do the 'flexing the dish' trick on both arc extremes and in the middle. By just doing it on one end, you can't tell if the motor azimuth is wrong, the dish declination is wrong, or if the motor elevation (90-Latitude) is wrong.

This may help:-

using the original h to h motor, both the motor mount and dish mounts are set pretty much at 51, I've played with both adjusting them but no sure which one it should be?

ill get some pictures up later on

By the looks of it, the one on the round thing is to set the dish pivot axis, and definitely should be set to Latitude.

It looks like the one on the back of the dish is to adjust the dish declination.

The declination needs to be set to the value that gives you the maximum signal on your closest due south satellite, when the motor has been sent there.

Sorry, that's the best I can do as I don't have that dish.

51 on both the dish and motor looks about right but your motor should be on 0 when you tune in on 0.8W...

A little bit left or right and you miss some of the sats... Even I have the same issue and I can't get 26E and 28.2E is a bit fluctuating...

I haven't had any time to fine tune my dish till now but will be doing it very soon
