Today I went to nelson to do a bit of work for some extra money, and I went by train. I had my card ready to pay (as I had no cash on me) and waited for the conductor to come along, but no sign of him until I got off...

I asked him why he didn't come to take fares, and his response was "The train is too long"...

And on the way back, again, no sign of a conductor, this time I didn't bother with asking... :D

So, I got a free return journey today, not intentionally as I was waiting to pay, but they never came for my fare so it's not my fault... :D

I used to do that every morning and evening.. i got off at first stop.. the conductor was only half way at that point.. ha.

About the job for extra work, i hope your not claiming dole and doin a bit of work on the side??

I could do that on the train that I get, but I'm not that dishonest... :P

As for working, I'm well within the 16 permitted hours I can do whilst claiming Incapacity Benefits, I'm doing the work to keep me occupied and to have some extra pennies to play with... :)
