Canal Satellite Official Subscription via dish

I have been an official CanalSat subscriber for the past few years (using a dish and a Humax PVR), which has been working quite well - but I am now wondering if I could benefit from getting the box from Canal +/Canalsat by paying a little extra - I can ask my parents to get it for me, but have no idea if it actually can work in the UK - does anyone have any experience of it?
