Just saw this on a local forum. After I laughed and choked on my cornflakes I thought I should share it..........

Hi,

I have just seen this post on another forum so dont know how true it is:-

"I have been told by sky that they are aware of illegal sky in Cyprus and they are going to deal with it as they did with Spain.
They had a frequancy umbrella over spain that deminished sky reception using the satalites in place.

This then had Sky go to the Spanish goverment the oppotunity to have sky offically in Spain but at the cost of the spanish goverment for the license a few million it seems . This has had a knock on effect with satalite companies in spain who sell dishes etc .

Sky have approached the Cypriot goverment with the same proposal so they advised that come this November they will deminished the illegal reception of Sky in Cyprus and then have a contract with Goveerment to have sky officially over here , I know Sky have purchased a large warehouse in Nicosia and offices attached. So it looks like no one willbe paying large amounts for dish anymore to get illegal sky.. Have asked sky to confirm this and they have advised this is true and want to be up and running by next July starting with Nicosia first . So everyone will be able to have sky dishes that dont cover the size of a small planet anymore. At a reasonable price also have sky packages that work all of the time not sometimes."

Regards
James

if there was any chance of sky being legal in spain it would have been by now.
i work in the industry here in spain and i know for a fact that once an appication is summitted any company can start transmiiting as the licence system takes years to process and the legal stance is get your apllication in start your transmission and just wait for licence......this is how the re-transmission of bbc/itv etc has been allowed to run for so long here....

HA HA HA... This is the worst I've seen so far.

I take it the person just called Sky's excellent customer service and got the answer from there... O-zzz
