Advice Needed Lenson Heath 1.5 mtr dish ??

Ok ..been to see the dish ..
Certainly looks ok for £50 ..mount included ..
Yes it is 5 foot wide ,,,
Here are the pics..
Still mounted and a bit inaccesible in his garden ...and I'll haver to remove it myself ..
I'll need to take some tools and ask around to find someone with a van to collect it with me.

Nice! Looking promising. That's the Channel Master polar mount it's hanging off... though, I suspect you'll stick your H180 motor on it?
 
Looks to be a modified CM Polar Mount too, great find mate.

..it turns out he's less than 4 miles from me..
He also has a DVB card for sale TBS8920 pci if anyone is interested ?
I think he wants between £20 and £30 ...but maybe this is negotiable ?

Ok ...persuaded a mate to collect the dish with me this sunday afternoon ..
He has a van ..so that's good..
Only problem I can see is the weather forecast for Sunday don't look particularly helpful ..but still.

I also asked Simon about the satellite card he's selling again ..
I suspect he'd let it go for £15 ..probably £20 with postage..
If anyone is interested ..I can PM his phone number..

I doubt it, the third picture has (as far as I can see) Fortec Star on the back of the reflector, though from the Jonsa website, the reflector and feed are somewhat different.

There is a tiny chance the reflector is a Gibertini, owing to the 6 fastening points, but don't hold your breath.

Why would it not get me a couple of extra db in Ka CH ..
Surely it _has_ to have more gain than a 1.25 ..even a gibby 1.25 ??

As to the card I'm convinced he'd sell it for £20 including postage ..
I can PM you Simons phone number if you like ..and you could ask him directly.

The reflector would have to be completely true to be worthwhile at Ka band, it is highly doubtful an aluminium / steel version, already installed, is going to have the same characteristics once shipped and reinstalled to another address.

I get your point CH ..but it's only being transported about 4 miles ..and I will be sitting with it the whole way to make sure it's not damaged..
I guess I just cross my fingers then ??

As before, the transportation / second site is - possibly - a killer for Ka as it is a metal reflector, but since the others before me have already confirmed, the dish is mated to another mount, and so the six bolt system is highly unlikely to have been kind to the manufacturer's performance claims when first designed.

Ok ..the FStar is now in my backyard ..
A project for warmer, dryer weather I think ..
