LG 4k tv 4:2:2 capability??

Deep in one of the manuals you get with new tv's Ive come across this info

In the Other connections section if you enable HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour

(Home - settings gear wheel - 3 dots - General - HDMI Deep Colour)

-- On Support 4K @ 50/60Hz (4:4:4. 4:2:2, 4:2:0)

-- Off Support 4K @50/60Hz 8bit (4:2:0)

Sooooo does that capability carry over onto other transmissions???

My tv is the 43UH650V

Not much the wiser - and those posts are all 2014 anyway.

From the latter post it looks like the advance of copy protection on the HDMI inputs prevents higher frame rates from reproducing anything but 4:2:0 to the screen, but I could be wrong.

Confirmed it wont decode 4.2.2 , Manhattan 4k out soon that will do 4.2.2, unsure if it does S2x

4:2:2 & 4:4:4 on these and a few other devices is to do with Chroma Sub Sampling more information here:
