Lidl dish (comag co-80) on a motor

Hi Everyone,

I've been trying to sort this one out my self but I think it's time to ask for help.

Did any of the 1000 of people that bought the 80cm Dish from Lidl recieve a manual.

If they did can anyone tell me what should I set the offset too for it.
I live in the blackpool area Lat 53.45.38.41,long -3.02.00.60.

I finally have everything for my first installation but only have access to a long enough ladder after 7 pm when a neighbour who's a plumber finishes work (64 people live on my street and one man owns a ladder).

I'm hoping to make a start this week but as you can imagine it's a going to be a race against the sun going down.

I'm going to be using 2 * 24" K brackets, 1 * 24" T bracket and a 8 foot piece of scaffolding.

P.S. I'll be using a Manhattan hh140alu DiSEqc 1.2 motor and I'd like to see as many sats as possable, if that makes a difference to the offset of the dish.

The most important setting (after getting the mast plumb), is the latitude/elevation on the motor body.

The dish angle can be done by finding your due South satellite, as you are at 3 degrees west, you will need to make slight offset allowance with the motor.

Very important: Supporting pole must be VERTICAL.
For your location nearest south satellite is Amos1,2(4W).

I think I get it just set up the satellite south turn the motor 4 degrees west to Amos. Fine adjust with satellite meter and then try other satellites and use a general best overall dish angle.

Amos isn't one I'd choose, too weak from your location, Atlantic bird at 5W would be better.

If you offset your motor by 2 degrees West and then find Atlanticbird by moving the whole assembly on the mast and dish elevation only, then you should be set up perfectly with no further adjustment necessary.

Yes, better Atlantic bird at 5W - has stronger signal.

Sorry for being a Muppet but does offset by 2 degrees west mean.

turn the motor to 2 degrees west rather than 0 degrees and then aim the whole assembly to 5 degrees west.

Yes,
I aligned my motor by using usals and then turning the motor on the pole so that the reading on the motor calibration said 5 degs the same as the sat I was looking at on the screen. I am able to get channels from 50 degs East to 50 degs west but having trouble finding anything after that.
Any suggestions from any experienced installers would be useful.

Hi Mat,
As I understand, your motor does't rotate jet. I dont know if Technomate has manual buttons pointed below. You must readjust motor "0"-position:
-drive the motor to "0" position via the manual buttons(suppose motor has such);
-at this position get Thor or Intelsat 10-02 (your location coordinates Latitude 52,246N, Longitude - 0,894W);
-reset "0" position via button and store in reseiver.
