Great to see the old C4 ident 4 note sting has been updated for the late 2010s/2020s. :-respekt




Shame they didnt bring the spinning coloured blocks back as well but you cant have everything

Ive always loved that tune - and yup Im old enough to remember it being played in full across advert breaks when C4 didnt have enough ads to show. Occasionally you would get Fourscore II being played - which was the B-side.


David Dundas held onto the copyright of the 4 note sting so every time C4 played it that had to pay him. Must have added up to a nice little monthly cheque :D
 
One fun thing I noticed on the B side is right at the very beginning, you can briefly hear the audio tape being started, as though they were just a smidge off with timing the starting the cutting of the master record & playing the music track... :lol:

Though my copy of the record doesn't sound as crackly as that particular example, but I did clean mine before playing it... :p
 
My other half was animating some fillers many moons ago, I'm almost certain it was for Channel 4 (or a spin off ), will have a look around.
 
It was E4, they held an annual competition, though I think she predates these.
