Various flavours of the newly released Mint 17 available here

I shall Download both 32 and 64 bit versions in Cinnamon today (For Netbook and Laptop respectively) but won't install until tomorrow lest SWMBO chops off my head for being "unavailable" all day Sunday.

I'll be downloading mint today and sticking it on my laptop. I'll post my results in due course.

1.2Gb 6 minute download

I feel your pain.

That's more like four hours for me.......
Sounds about right....thank goodness for my Raspberry Pi as a low power overnight torrent machine.

Well I've been out Bellringing for two hours: Got back just now and still an hour to go afore she's finished!

Perhaps I should have waited until I'd got my copy before telling you lot: Ten gets one the Bytemark Hosting Server is overloaded!

As it's taking soooooo long, I've flashed up SWMBO's Laptop and connected it to my neighbour's Router to get the 64 bit version. His connection is same speed as mine, more or less, but at least I get two bytes at the cherry, as it were :D

I run so little software on this laptop that on the face of it little has changed, menus have altered, well, been tweaked really.

^^^
This is the release candidate of Mint. Although I'm fairly sure applied updates bring it to the full release, I'll be waiting until the official version is out before putting on my home PC.

I've put in on my Netbook >> It will update in the normal course of events.

But, just in case (!), I'll refrain from doing SWMBO's until the Final Version is released.

A whole load of updates installed after i restarted the laptop.

Yeah, that happens with any flavour of release.

There is a Kernel update if you want to enable Level 5 Updates.
