Listen Up Linux Mint 17 Released

Still no sign of the "final" version ...................... had loads of itsy-bitsy updates to the Release Candidate, but to be frank it seems very little different to Mint 16.

Had a bunch of kernal updates last week,my google earth wouldnt run on it tho.

Final Release now available (But strangely the Linux Mint Site itself hasn't been updated yet!).

Official Announcement imminent: I shall await that and Download via links from the Home site rather than trust a Mirror accessed directly on the say so of the Computer Mags.

Final Release now available from Linux Mint Download page

(The Link is to the Cinnamon 64 bit Edition: 32 bit versions and other flavours are available too, of course)

And for anyone (Like me!) slightly concerned that having installed the Release Candidate a couple of weeks ago, they'd need major work to upgrade to the Final Release, it is confirmed that all that is required is to run Update Manager and Install any Level 1 Updates.

QED.

The job's a good un.

Oh thats good news then, i've just run update manager but theres nothing available at the moment. I'm up to date or possible pending.....

I hedged and installed 32bit RC on my Netbook, but waited for the final 64 bit jobbie for her Ladyship's Laptop.

Got the latest Downloaded (A mere four hours!) checksummed and burnt to USB, ready to install on Monday.

Thanks for the heads up, Gordon. Finally found time to upgrade from Mint14 :-rofl2

It's finally got Sounds!

Not many, admittedly, but at least it isn't the second most annoying noise in history (Nokia beats Windows Welcome hands down).

Weird noise when ejecting a USB stick! Can't recall that one in Mint14.

The Sounds first came in with Mint 16 Petra, so fairly new-fangled.

You can, of course, disable or reassign them.
