I currently have a SKY+ system and am looking to expand out using a motorised 1 metre dish. I also have a PC in my TV cabinet which runs Microsoft Media Centre. I am technically competent and am happy to get involved in Linux.
The question is, which direction should I go?
1. A standard HD Satellite receiver
2. A Linux based receiver
3. A windows based solution which adds a PC tuner to my Media Centre box
My gut feel is to go Linux because it feels like it should be the most upgradable long term solution. I cant find anyone who is using a Microsoft based solution so that worries me.
