As my Netbook is somewhat venerable I was thinking of replacing it with a 10" Android Tablet (I've already got a 7" one).

However, there are constraints eg Both SWMBO and I use a Home Finance prog called Grisbi which only comes in Windows, Mac and Linux flavours - no Android, nor any prospect thereof.

So I widened my search and came up with the Linx 1010B Win 10 Tablet with bundled Keyboard.

Price seems good @£140 and I like the idea of the two-in-one versatility of being able to use it in Tablet or Laptop mode.

I understand Win 10 accommodates both "Apps" and traditional Windows executables.

Anybody here got one?

Can I be persuaded to seek a cure for my Windowsphobia?

Just arrived and unpacked.

I'm going to leave it a couple of hours to acclimatise to a centrally heated house after the rigours of transit in cool and moist conditions.

Then a full charge, followed by lighting the blue touchpaper.

I have to say, it's an elegant piece of kit and the keyboard is nicely weighted for stability.

Our local pawn shop, Cash Converters was doing a 10" tablet for £99 just before Christmas. Part of a larger range with 7" and mobile sized units. Can't remember the brand though.
 
Yes, I had a good trawl around and found a fair few from around £70 from eBay, Argos, Currys etc.

Most of them (but not all) were Android and the only one,s other than the Linx, that came bundled with a Keyboard Dock were really nasty things.

I got this based on reputation, as well as "must haves" and am pleased so far - albeit waiting for Windows to Update the Updates to Windows that it wants to Update after the first lot of Updates ..........................

It will do a grand job of replacing my Netbook.
 
Been using this for a couple of days now and am really very pleased.

So much faster than the Minted Netbook it is replacing and versatile, due to the 2 in 1 concept.

Battery life is astonishing. I've used it pretty much all day and still have 50% charge.
 
Still very impressed with this kit after using it intensively for a while - so this morning I decided the time had come to create a Recovery Stick.

That was an hour ago and it's only halfway through!

Mind you, I suspect the resulting boredom is more related to Windows than to the Hardware.
 
Three months on and I now use this most of the time, as it's fast, stable, versatile, portable, easy on the battery and on the few occasions I prefer to use a hardware keyboard (As yesterday, updating our Wills) the keyboard supplied is solid and weighted so the combined assembly is stable.
