My Satellite Setup
80cm Motorised system. Samsung reciever. Sky HD
My Location
Birminham west midlands
Researching to update old motorised system. I have a question about LNB's I understand a universal LNB is required but I don't understand the spec figures .3 or .2 etc.

I read that the lower the number the better the picture is this true!!!!!! Puzzled because some cheap ones have lower number ratings than more expensive ones.

My new sytem could possibly comprise of a Humax HD reciever. 85cm dish. No idea what brand of motor to request. No idea what brand of LNB to request. It won't be self installed. Assuming installer supplies everything barr the reciever I have no idea of installation cost.....

Live in the Birmingham region UK. Been trying to get free estimates so far not found a local supplier to do that......

Hi,

Take a look at the Inverto Black Ultra LNb, great reports and well worth a purchase. The figures quoted, 0.2dB, 0.3dB etc, is the noise figure [NF], although don't believe what is quoted.

You mention 85cm, what dish is that out of interest?

With regards to DiSEqC motors, the TM2600 metal gearing is well recommended.

Just get an Inverto Black Ultra for the LNB, sorted. The .3 and .2 are the noise figure of the LNB. No-one really pays much attention to them because the manufactures tend to quote the figure at the best part of the band, where it will vary accross it.

I have 80cm at the mo..needs replacing I think 16 years old......85cm technisat satman £56 I mention because that is what I saw on saturopa........Just researching no final purchase decisions yet made. Can't remember seeing 80cm.......Also perhaps a few more centimeters will ensure I pull weaker staitions....Am I correct or is an extar 5cm meaningless peanuts.....

I have found inverto black premium LNB.....Not found ultra yet

P.S. Is there a way of editing posts to correct typo errors...????

Eventually ................ Edit functions aren't available until you've got a few more Posts under your belt.

The black Ultras used to be difficult to get hold of in the UK, but not anymore. Sateuropa and Southernsatellite (both site sponsors here) sell them.
