I got a problem now with my LNB cable and don't know what it is. every thing was working fine this morning and i just came back from a friend and wanted to watch TV but when i did it said LNB Cable is short. so at first i didn't know what that was so i searched on internet what to do. so i unplugged every thing and turned off my box. then i reconnected everything and it worked and then after 5min it said LNB cable is short. then after a few mins it worked and then it didn't work and i don't know what the problem is. every thing is fine btw signals etc..

PS. i'm a noob in these things so please don't use difficult words etc.. :P

thnx for help

That indicates the cable outer copper mesh shield is touching the inner conductor.

This may be because of a stray whisker of copper in one of the plugs, or physical damage to the cable outside.

To start pull the power socket out of the wall, then unscrew the f-connector from the back of the receiver. Unscrew the f-conn from the end of the cable and check carefully the braid is all pushed back with no stray whiskers.

If thats ok follow the cable back to the dish and scheck for damage.

You know i got 2 Coaxial cable's one for my normal box and the other for my dongle. but anyway both are new and there are no damages and atm is working but i am not sure if it will last long. and i unplugged the f-connector from my reciever and plugged it in again and sometimes it works sometimes not. but gonna check what you said m8

Oh well i fixed it. i unplugged my cable from the satellite itself and it's working atm.
