Wondered which LNB would be best for my system, Spiderbox HD6000, Motor with 80cm dish, all up and running with signal 68-78 quality. Whats the difference between a long one and short one. Just need advice on which one to go for. inverto's web site is confusing to me??

LNB of choice here is usually the Inverto Black Ultra. You'll probably notice the neck of the single version is considerably longer than standard. This allows you to locate the 'sweet spot' between LNB mount and dish centre, by forward and backward adjustments. I've used that brand for some years now and haven't found an LNB which betters it's performance overall...

So I fitted the above LNB, long one and managed to tweak to between 68-78 quality on all sats. Tried forward and backward and different scews. Settled for -1-2 and about 1/4 from furthest back. Is it passible to get higher than this? I ended up at 54 elevation on my motor with 23-24 on the dish. think I'm done?

Extender panels would help.

Is that on the stronger sats? I.E. 28.2E and 19.2E. Because I think it should be a little higher. What range along the arc are you getting, how far east and west?

yes higher on stronger sats, with 68 on others, East,West. Cant get any higher with scews it just goes off. My motor is at 54 and dish at 23-24, so not sure what else to do apart from playing around again. Used my iphone/ipad facetime to view signal bar on sat finder while up the ladders. Funny thing is my last dish 1m was at about 60 elevation with 24 on the dish?

The latitude setting on your motor should coincide with your location. If you've had to set it higher, you're compensating for something that's not adjusted properly elsewhere on your set up. I use a digital level and try to achieve the pole being vertical (foward and back, left and right) to within 0.1 of a degree. It may sound OCD but it does help. Have you tried peaking the dish at extreme ends of your visible arc? Personally, I'd leave the LNB at zero skew, if you're having to adjust it to get the best signal, it would suggest that your pole is slightly out of plumb to the left or right.
