What are signs of a faulty LNB? I am using a Omax mini for FTA and I get 84% signal intensity but 0-1% Quality on Hotbird 13E. I have never set up a sattelite before. I found for my area i am supose to have the dish on a MAG Azmith of 221.8, Elevation of 38.2, and LNB skew of 36.5. I understand everything but the skew of the LNB.

Are you sure the dish is correctly aligned as receiver quality 0% indicates no signal lock.
The LNb skew angle refers to the rotational position of the LNb within it's holder. The skew angle needs to be correctly set to differentiate between horizontally and vertically polarised signals.

Is your dish a prime focus or an offset dish?
I really wouldnt know it is one that we got here on the base from a local national shop. If offset means the LNB is not in the center of the dish than that is what I have. Also is there any settings i need to be checking for this. I am new to satellites spent most my time learning about semiconductors. Also it got signal for a day than it just went dead so I am wondering if it could be the reciever.

Are you sure the dish hasn't moved? The dish only needs to move a few milimetres for the signal quality to drop.Slave Boy said:
Don't worry about the 84% signal intensity, that just means the LNB is connected. You'd probably get a similar reading if you pointed the dish at a wall.
