none yet, I am planning to learn from this site.

Can LNB's use all of its outputs simultaneously? For example a single LNB with two outputs (Horizontal and Vertical) is connected to a multiswitch, which is connected to two receivers, can one receiver tune in on the Horizontal and one receiver on the Vertical at the same time?

i want to know if all LNB's have this feature where they can use all of their outputs simultaneously. If not, then what do you call LNB's with this feature? Are Dual and Twin LNB's the same? or maybe i meant 22khz instead of the Horizontal/Vertical switching...

i'm very new at this so I have no idea. I have not even handled any of this LNB stuff. Just reading.

edit: sorry, I meant use the High Band/Low Band simultaneously (not Hori/Verti)
 
Quad LNb: four independently switched ports.
Quattro LNb: four fixed ports for use with a multiswitch.
 
so a quad LNB has like a built in multiswitch?
 
Yes, correct.
Quad, four port and an Octo being eight switched outputs :)
 
what about in the case of dual and twin? is there a difference between the two?
 
Don't think Dual LNBs are made any more, 1 Horizontal output and one Vertical output, used for multiswitches. Twin LNBs have two identical universal outlets and are now also occasionally called dual LNBs, in fact some people call monobloc LNBs Dual LNBs as well.:)
 
hello,
the only type i have seen was a dual with a c120 setup on a omt.
the feed horn was bolted to the omt to seperate low and high on each.
since you need 2 c120 lnb and 4 lines one type was needed on each flange.
so one bolted was always horz and the other always vert,
today they have one with 4 outputs that bolts to the feedhorn. it all works the same.:)

what do you mean when you say monobloc lnb and universal output? is there an output other than universal?
 
My old analogue multiroom (4 rooms) used two duals and two "mini magic" multiswitches feeding 13 east and 19.2 around the house for many years. One of the duals and both multiswitches still work at over 20 years old and 18 years constant use.

A monobloc lnb is two lnbs in one housing designed to align on two seperate satellites at the same time - I have seen them with 3, 4, 6 and 9(US only) degree seperation (that seperation is the seperation between the orbital positions of the satellites). A universal lnb is one with two standardised switchable local oscillator frequencies (usually but not always 9.75 and 10.6 GHz) which allows a satellite receiver to tune into all the Ku band.
