hi folks, I have an old Pace MSS 500 Analogue System which I have in my bedroom, have recently bought a new VCR, anyway when hooking the video up the LNB cable has come loose, and I have reinserted it, but now it keeps coming up LNB Short, anybody any ideas, what is up.
May sound a sily question, but when the lead came off,, did the F connector come off as well? If it did, there is probably a single filament of copper braid touching the center core of the coax, very difficult to see, but is enough to cause a short.
PS. You may need to disconnect the receiver to reset the cut out.
Yes, have a good look at the cable end, make sure that there is nothing connecting the outer screen to the inner core. The dialectric (white bit) should keep the two sections apart. Once you are sure that there is not the slightest strand of copper filament connecting the two, screw the connector back on.
