dears,

Is there a way to make my dreambox DM500 to ask for username & password when I start it up.
Or if there is any add on to install it in the device..

May I ask why do you need this?
If you have kids in the house, then you can always use Parental Control on any specific channel.
But if this is something to do with CS, then I am afraid I can't help you.

Actually, yes, I need it to protect the kids.
the strange thing is that almost all receivers have this feature by default I don't know why it's not in the Dreambox :confused:
also I believe that for Linux receivers (like Dreambox) developers can make add-ons like what I need, am I right?

You can use DreamboxEdit to pin protect bunches of channels at a time.
