Sky UK epg - will be 117 at launch (London area only)

The first of the new ultra local channels for the UK - the first of about 20 that are expected to launch, although only a handful will be on satellite. Currently testing tagged as 50892, its encrypted in NDS Videoguard and will be restricted to cards in the London area.

I was lucky to get this shot - I happened to have left the receiver on 50892 when I was channel hoping last night. The signal must have been fta when the signal came up, then the picture froze when the encryption came on!

It's not opening for me on either of my Sky cards (Call Sky to upgrade message) registered to an address just outside the M25 but in the ex-Carlton ITV transmission area.

No sign of the London Live test on the local DVB-T mux yet, but a good signal from CH29 Crystal Palace of the other two Comux tests so if it is blocked on Sky I should at least be able to view it via terrestrial means...
 
Its not opening here either - its probably been locked down until it goes on air, (which should be next week sometime as video tests have commenced).

I was incredibly lucky to get that solitary frame to identify it!

Actually, had I have known you still visit I would have left it for you to post.
 
I visit every few days to make sure we havent missed anything important on 28E, but I wont post there any longer due to the dreadful moderating there amongst other things.

And I see we have both been credited with the find on the new week ## thread (even though I haven't posted on there for ~ 2 years) :-rofl2
 
50892 London Live now full testing with video & audio.

Its encrypted to at least ftv level.
 
Oh dear. I always did wonder ... how do broadcasters measure the number of viewers tuning in?
 
I can see most of these local services going the same way as Solent TV & Channel M Manchester. Only a handful of them will survive long term.

The launch dates of most of them are already slipping and I predict several wont even make it on air.
 
Can't say I'm too shocked. The only things I've watched are the old programmes and even most of those are available via 4oD.
 
This may have been fine in the 70's, but with so much choice there now, no-one is going to bother with "local" channels.
