Looking for advice on best Octo LNB

Hi Guys,

Looking to fit an Octo LNB on a 1m dish here in the Canaries for Astra 2 and Eurobird FTA/FTV (in place of the current quad). Last time I fitted an Octo the only choice was a Televes or the Maximum (which was identical in all but name) and cost was about 120 Pounds!

I see the prices have fallen dramatically over the years. I was always happy with the Maximum Octos I fitted in the past, my only complaint was they were very heavy (needed a strong LNB arm).

So my question is what Octo do people here recommend? I know I won´t magic up any extra channels on that size dish, but its always good to get as much signal as you can to maintain picture during the odd bad weather day (the time you actually want to watch the telly!).

I can't answer your question, but you might want to consider a multi-switch. Some of them actually work with a quad (so no need to replace it). I have that set-up with an 80cm dish here and it has worked reliably feeding four sky boxes and a sky+ for four years.
 
Hi Blueplatinum.

No that won´t be suitable as they usually need seperate power (and suitable water proof containers for the mulitswitch) and as it is for a group of neigbours, not good. If the power tripped in the house supplying the power and they weren´t in then the others would loose their tv. Also arguments over who pays electric (I know its not much, but you know what people are like).
