As the title states, I need to find some replacment parts for my Von-Wise 24 inch linear actuator.

It looks like the nylon cams for the East/West hard limit switches have crumbled, the centers have gone.

But I think I need the sensor more then anything as the motor now steps way past the satellites current settings, it use to go very smoothly in between the satellites.

It still runs smoothly from satellite to satellite but it runs past the position settings that were setup before this started, going into the menus to fine tune it it jumps outside the normal steps, before this the fine tuning was in very small steps.

Here are some photos.VW motor 003B.JPG VW motor 002D.jpg

The motor is old, so I hope I can find the right parts.

Bump bump........No one has an old 24" VW actuator laying around, that could be used for parts???????

I'm SOL without the motor to move my "C" band dish.

Take off the cams, fill the centre with epoxy , dry, drill and refit.

I'll need to see better images, and measurements to find a suitable donor unit.

The cam is nylon with a set screw in the center, it would be difficult to do that, and it looks like the rest of the cam is starting to crumble also, the motor is over 20+ years old.

But I don't need the motor limits as bad as a new sensor to see if that corrects the larger then normal movements.

I will see if I can get a better photo of the sensor, or if one of my nephews can come by and take it off, they don't let me up on ladders anymore, I fall off them too easily now.

What measurements are you talking about??

I have a better photo but it's too large for this site to post, what is the biggest photo size you can download? I can compress it.

Well regardless of what it looks like, I would be surprised if it turned out to be nylon as nylon has a 40-50 year lifespan before even beginning to degrade, but using something like instamorph you should be able to create replacement cams using the old ones to create moulds and mould in a hex nut for the central thread

If by sensor, you mean the Hamlin component, there are some on Fleabay

They look bog standard issue for a whole host of Taiwanese cams. Post the diameter of the main cam rotor part (just under an inch ?) and somebody will come up with a solution

Are they tied together by serated teeth that clamp when the main screw is tightened ? The posted image really isn't clear enough to see.
