My Satellite Setup
A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Image b shows the top of the board better than I could see with the naked eye. I cannot notice anything resembling a switch or contacts to short.

The white card is stuck on the battery cover ( a thin cell , same diameter as the standard one seen on laptop/pc motherboards).

If you still have it open and it is still FUBAR, then try shorting the marked pad to the case for a few seconds.

I may be wrong but that looks like a reset pad, it was not marked as I blew up the photo to look.

And doesnt that little tab have to touch the battery? it looks like it's only touching the white paper.

That tab is the contact for the case sounder.

I'm not sure how to short the contact to the case, since it's made of plastic, but will try connecting it to the screw terminal next door.

That may work, or the battery minus. Check it with a DVM to see what voltage is on it.

Good thinking, the four screws are holding the upper part of the battery down, which would be the +ve side of things.

It also could be the little metal tab sticking up at the bottom of the circled area I did in the photo.

I really don't want to be shorting contacts out that I have no knowledge of, on the advice of a forum member that may or may not know about timepieces.

No disrespect, but I'll hand the watch back to the gift giver, it is under guarantee (I hope)

I have a cousin that is a jeweler, we use to get together a lot, he moved out of state last year, (lucky guy) he had a box full of old watches he gave me, I salvaged quite a few, and recycled some for the gold. I never ran into those plastic type.
