Hello again guys.

I have a question that I only remembered to ask now as it has started to happen again. Around this time of the year I lose all the 2d channels at around 10 or 10:15 for about fifteen minutes and then they come back. Could this be related to the time of the year and the way the satellite is positioned at this time?
Has anybody else experienced this before? It is only at this time of the year.

Thanx

Yes the sun is directly behind the satellite at this time and the solar radiation swamps the signal. They are called the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes

My Satellite Setup
Snap's setup: (In Spain) Humax HDR, Prodelin 1.8m dish + Invacom QDF-031 + CM feed, (In UK) CallFlow VDSL + EE 4G, Sky Q, YouView HD, Mac OSX, iOS

UK: Tonbridge, Kent. Spain: Madrid.
Happens always just after and just before the equinox, and it only affect fringe viewers in mainland Europe and beyond. To predict the exact times, see:

The plus side is quite often good reception after midnight when Astra switch the batteries on during 2D's eclipse.

Thanks guys for your help. It also happened to a friend of mine so I know now it wasn't my box.How long does this last for? The first time it happened last year, I nearly died thinking that the system had gone boo boo and I only with a recent installation.

Cheers

Strangely, the larger your dish the quicker it finishes - a large dish has a narrower beamwidth than a small dish.

Normally, it's all over and done with on each satellite in 5 minutes or less.

Calculators say 5 minutes but it's around 12 minutes loss at peak in Spain.
