I live on the Costa Blanca and have been trying to get the CNBC channel, following some recommendation, I did a factory reset this morning and since then cannot find any BBC2 channels or any of the weak signals either. I used to be able to get BBC2 and CBeebies, C5 etc from around 1300 until 2300 each day, but this morning after the reset cannot even find them listed in the channel guide.

This is only occurring in non freesat mode, in freesat mode although at this time of day I get no signal, BBC2 is where it should be on the listings

Does anybody know how I can tune them in, or what has happened. I have a Foxsat HD box.

Many thanks

Incidentally I can now get the CNBC channel.

What receiver are you using? Your profile says you have a $ly FTV card but $ly boxes don't have a non-freesat mode.

Regardless the first things I would try are a mains switch off followed by a full reset again. How old is the receiver?

I have a Humax Foxsat HD, I should have changed my profile when I got my Freesat box, so its only about 9 months old, I don't have nothing to do with SKY anymore my box gave up the ghost and I wanted the free HD from BBC and ITV for the footie so bought the Freesat box.

I have tried another full reset but the same, would it make any difference what postcode I put into it when doing the first tune after reset, although I cannot see how as the problem I am getting is in non-freesat mode?

I would suggest that, as you say you can normally only get these channel from 1300 hours, your receiver will not be able to scan their frequency to add them to the EPG until after this time....you are trying to add channels whos frequency you cannot receive until 1300!!!

Try scanning after 1300 when you know you can get that frequency.

I agree, the postcode won't affect the non-Freesat mode. It's a bit puzzling. Who recommended a reset and why?

You may have to wait until your signal is stronger later today and then do your tune. The Freesat section gets its EPG from a separate signal source whereas the non-Freesat section can only display what it can find at the time of a scan.

EDIT - snap!

Many thanks for this I will try later today and let you know if it works.

The reason for the factory reset was because i could not get the CNBC channel and after the reset I can. Not now really sure why I wanted this channel in the first place, so it serve me right anyway.

Once again many thanks will post my result when I do the re tune.

CNBC is on the same Transponder as Zone Horror, CBS Reality+1 etc. The latter two mentioned are on the Freesat EPG and you'll find that although they will appear in the EPG they are not viewable when selected. Same same in non-Freesat mode.

If that proves to be the case, then you are suffering from a known problem with Channels on that TP (11261 H 27500 2/3) with Foxsat boxes using 1.00.24 Application Software that can be resolved by going to the Humax Website and installing 1.00.25 (which has never been released OTA).

Once installed, then do a factory reset and all should be well (Simply updating on its own won't clear the problem ).

Hi Tivu

I have version HZPTSF 1.00.25 & loader 7.24 which I downloaded from the freesat site some weeks back and that is still the version showing on the diagnostic page. I have just checked.

So it appears to be a different problem. In Non-Freesat mode I can actually view CNBC, (its got Golf on at this moment) Zone Horror & CBS Reality+1, they are all viewable. But BBC2 is not listed anywhere and when I try to do a manual search it does not find it.

I have just tried to watch BBC2, which is just starting to be receivable albeit very pixelated, so we wait some more until I can get it in the clear in Freesat mode then try Woborny and PaulR's suggestions to see if that works.

Ok, fair enough - I know I've mentioned the glitch in another Thread somewhere and also I remember chatting with you before - but I couldn't recall without research whether you were up to date with your Software!

Thanks to everybody for you help, just done a manual re-tune in non Freesat mode and all missing channels now available.

I live in a very notoriously poor signal area on the Costa Blanca. but just lately have been able to get BBC2 et al in the clear from about now until 2300. I have a 1.9 dish (not Famaval) and a twin LNB feeding my upstairs neighbour and myself and we both use the Foxsat HD, we have a community system also with a 1.9 but Famaval dish and they do not get BBC2, so I guess our decision to go it alone has paid off,. even though I always assumed the Famaval would perform better than ours.

I recently tried my old and obviously failing silver Grundig SKY box with the old blue house card, but could not get as many channels as with the Foxsat.

Once again thanks to all for your help.
