Lost channels after nearly a year...

Hi,

Nearly a year ago we bough a Goodmans Standard Freesat box (GFSAT100SD) and after getting rid of our DECT telephone we managed to receive a good number of channels with our signal strength of 87%.

However, all that changed recently. In the last few days we have gone back to not being able to receive certain channels that we previously couldn’t get when we had a DECT phone in the house. We haven’t bought or changed anything that would interfere with the Freesat, so how come all of a sudden those channels are not working again? Is there a chance my neighbour could have bought a DECT phone that would interfere? Do they really have that much range?

Any help is appreciated. My daughter is annoyed she can’t watch PopGirl!:eek:
 
Can you name a few of the affected channels?
 
Are you sure they are the same channels that you lost previously, when you had the DECT phone?
Check to see if the channels that you have lost all use the same polarity, Horizontal or Vertical, as this might show that it's a LNB problem.
Also check if the channels lost are from a particular beam as then it might be that your dish has moved slightly.
You can always check with your neighbours to see if they have recently bought a DECT phone, or if they are experiencing problems.

DECT Frquencies are 1880 to 1900 MHz


Hi band problems:-

12480 to 12500 MHz (10600 MHz LO) IF is 1880 to 1900 MHz

Lo band problems:-

11630 to 11650 MHz (9750 MHz LO) IF is 1880 to 1900 MHz
 
Yes, there the common channels as they fall under the frequencies listed above. Try the neighbour, turn off DECT equipment and test.
