My Satellite Setup
65cm mesh dish with univ. quad lnb- -thomson sky box (no subs) - - samsung 50" plasma.
My Location
S.W.Scotland
Hi you clever people-
Have just lost freeview signal. TV working ok with satellite feed.
Is there a way to check masthead amplifier and/or power unit without any fancy test equipment.
Have changed the fuse in power supply. Aerial and connections all ok (in loft so out of the weather).
Any thoughts much appreciated.

More than likely a power supply failure. Vision power units for example often fail after a few years of use. Can you measure the DC output on the cable, maybe with a multi-meter; (not always identifiable as they can often break down under load).

I don't have any test equipment. I'm quite happy to trust you on this - and there not very costly anyway.
Will deal with it after the man with the beard has been.
