Lost setup pin for dm500s and need to get in my setup

If You mean the password then You must re-install an img :cool:

If you dont want to flash image again,i think,i am not sure, that there is another way too.
Firts of all you can try and erase the current Password:
1) Install TuxCom plugin
2) Run it from Yellow button
3) Point to /var/etc/passwd
4) Υou can easily blank out root password to gain full access to the box

Now you have erased the password that you see in the root line and becomes root::0:0::/:/bin/sh
You can telnet your dreambox now and give your new password :)
Try it ;)
 
I don't think the telnet password and the PIN number are the same thing.
 
There is no pin on a dreambox

Mhku maybe you are right but i supposed that Slimthug lost the telnet Password and not the parental lock pin.If its that way,sorry it was my mistake ;)
If he lost the parental lock pin i think there is also a way

use FTP to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma -> file config

open config / search:
i:/elitedvb/pins/parentallock=xxxxxx

sample:
i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=0000016b

use a Hex calculater,put 0000016b (http://www.statman.info/conversions/hexadecimal.html)and see it in decimal form,thats your PIN
 
the person i bought my box from deleted tuxbox so that i have to pay him to flash it when it is scrambled.
