Hi all
I am new to satellite tv and would like to ask a few questions;
I have a communal dish which i use with freesat (bush box from argos) i would like to buy the new technomate HD 6900 super. Will i have any advantage getting this box? will i be able to receive TFC (ABS-CBN) from atlanta Bird 3? even with nagravision.

Welcome to the forum pugilist

No you cannot receive channels from AB3, your dish is pointing at 28.2/5 East, you will need another dish for that as you cannot motorise the communal one. You freesat box will get you all there is only a skybox and subscription will get you more, oh sorry re-read the post you will get the FTA HD channels with an HD box
 
If you want to watch TFC on 5W you will have to buy a subscription.

If i get a subscription for TFC can i still use my communal dish? will i need to buy another reciever? perhaps the technomate?

Is it right that would need a 80cm dish if i bought another one to recieve ABS - CBN from atlantic bird 3. I could discreetly point it out of the window as i am in a top floor flat, but how to motorise it and point it in the right direction will be another problem!!

As a newbie to satellite (but not linux) what are FTA channels?

Any help would be beneficial, ohh and my wife is filipino so iam trying to surprise her in geting ABS- CBN (TFC)
