Magic Cam dead ...options please ?

Hi there

I killed my magic cam on my Xtreme one pvr some time ago.

At the mo I just want to get the FTA chanels back but though I get full signal and get the NO A/V sign with every chanel.

I assume this is due to having no CAS1 installed now....I've tried reprogramming with the magic programmer but it cannot find anything to program.

Can I fix this all with a CAS 2 programmer or can I just get a new CAM and sick it in and all will work fine again inclu the FTA chanels?

any ideas ?

If you are getting no video with the xtreme even on the FTA channels, you may need to do either a re-scan or perhaps a factory reset, the presence of the CAM should make no difference.

You should be able to resuscitate your CAM with the CAS2.

I've done both of these and also re installed the firmware.

When I scan for chanels it finds none ?

Is this a simple settings thing ?

Just puzzled that ever since the CAS1 went to Not installed i cannot search for chanels or indeed bring up the existing ones even with good signal... thats why i feel the two are linked
