making dreambox access the net on a network with a LAN switchbox

hi,

I am using windows 7 and have the dreambox connected to the pc with a switchbox.

I can ping the box from the pc. i can use dreamboxedit and ftp, no problems. but the box cant access the net.

on the connection adapter menu for the net on the pc, i have sharing (ICS) selected.

I have also tried to connect when the windows firewall is off.

anyone have an idea about what the problem could be?

i can post screenshots if that would help.

Very pleased if you have but would you care to explain what you did to correct the problem so that members using Windows 7 can benefit in the future...
 
i set both the box and the lan on the pc to dhcp. but this is not enough. one must reset the connections. do that by deselecting "use as default connection" when u rightclick the WAN connection. then, go to properties and select sharing, then select allow other network users....

the point is that this will only work if you have reset the connection first. not sure why.

then, next time you open WAN, it will assign a IP to your LAN and this will then automatically make dreambox do the same. even works with firewall on.
