Manually findign sats

Hi,

I have a motorised dish system and it has usals but it is not configured correctly. I will get a pro in to get it working but in the mean time I want to drive the dish via the box (diseqc) to find sats.

I have 28.2e located and saved, so that is my reference sat. I want to find 19.2e and 13e for starters.

I own a spiderbox 7000hd.

Can I just start from 28.2e and auto drive the dish west until i pick up a signal? or does the dish need to stop in order to establish a signal, in which case i should drive dish step by step.

What options do I have here?

I can't reach the dish as it is quite high up.

If the dish is not set up properly, then you may be able to pull in the immediately adjacent satellites, but probably not very well. Try 19.2 East first, driving a step at a time and see what happens to the signal strength and quality as you move the dish. Make sure you save the 28.2E slot first though.
 
will try that. each step of the drive moves the dish how much in degrees? 0.1 each time?
