Mars express is ready to find subsurface water after it has successfully deployed its radar booms,i think were in for a few suprises over the coming weeks and months.!!.I think there are huge quantitys of water under the ground and if i'm proved right you can bet the manned missions to mars will be brought forward.Kick ass !!!!

What's the point in sending people, when robot landers are many orders of magnitude cheaper (we've used them to explore the entire solar system, very successfully!).

Probably there is water trapped underground on Mars. And on the moon, come to that. But so what?

Theres also water in abundance on comets. Mars may just be that little more difficult to mine (cant just throw a fridge at it :-doh! )

I just think sending people to mars is crazy. Robot probes are enough, surely?

After all, Mars isn't exactly "just next door" like the moon was.
