Max I can put dish either side

Hey,

So my dish is attached to a wall. And I can push the dish to 28.2e on one end. I was wondering what is the max I can move the dish on the other side?

I know i must use 180degree and it will tell me, but I really don't understand how the sat angles all work. moving away from 28.2 takes me towards 13e but what comes after 0e? do we start with north?

similarly if my wall and dish allowed me, going past 28.2 would increase the degrees and eventually take me to 1w?

I am attaching diagram to show my dish positioning atm.

When you go past 0 from the east, you are heading west. the given positions of the satellite are nominal orbit positions from the greenwich meridian (0 degrees longditude). 0-180 degrees you are east of the meridian, 180 - 360 west of it.

Now if for example your longditude is 2 degrees west, when you point your dish at 1w, it is actually pointing 1 degree east of due south.

If due south is at a 90 degree angle to the wall and you can get 28e, you should be able to get round to 30w, assuming your longditude to 2 degrees west.
 
my longitude is 0.2 west, I assume that is the 2 you are referring to?

if that's the case then I can hope to get 30w on the other side?
 
I didn't know what you latitude was until you told me, i missed your profile location. The 2 degrees was an example. And it also depends on where due south is in relation to the wall

Sorry but that makes no sence at all to me.
 
sorry, let me make it clearer. Due south comes on the side of the wall where the dish is fixed. Does that make it any clearer?
 
A little.

Assuming due south is at a 90 degree angle to the wall, you should be able to move the dish to atleast 28.6 degrees west.

I do find the diagram and it's description a bit confusing. Is your drawing of the dish where it actually is positioned on the wall to get 28.2°E? If so the wall faces roughly due East or South East. That would restrict your choice of satellites quite a bit. There may be ways round this (a mount with a long standoff) but an actual photo of the dish facing 28° would be a lot clearer and allow us to give better advice.
