Meter doing strange things

My crappy Rover ST4 meter (Which is just over 12 months old) has started doing some rather strange things.

Firstly the most bizare thing is that the main display on the lid (which has come close to being snapped off a few times) has now decided to display backwards as if you were looking at it through a mirror

This affects both TV picture, meter readings, spectrum infact anything that it displays. It really makes you look a tit when trying to tell customers their freeview box is stuffed when your own meter appears to have been smoking something :toke:

Does anybody know if their is a setting that causes this as upto now i haven't managed to find it, if it does indeed have one 'O'

The second really even more annoying thing is the dial has a mind of its own, usually going through the menu in totally the opposite way to which you are turning the dial, then changing its mind halfway through. Rather annoying when taking signal records

Anyone have an idea how to fix any of these problems other than sending it back to where it was purchased from?

If your thinking about buying a meter don't bother with a Rover they are well & truly sh*te. I thought my old Rover DM16 would take some beating for being crap, but the ST4 has beaten it hands down.

First things first, upgrade on the next available opportunity :-rofl2

Secondly, the ST4 has a common problem with the cable ribbon connection to the top TFT display. Mine went completely but I've been told this can cause other "top display" problems. Might also be worth updating software to the latest firmware version to clear any s/ware faults.

:-idea Failing that, hand it back to the boss but don't tell him you dropped it :-rofl2 :-jumpsmile

Think i'll just give it back and get another one, and not tell him about the 25ft fall it had a few months back lol :D

On a lighter note they do bounce quite well :-lmao

Hopefully i can get my hands on a Promax this time, but likelyhood is that it will be another crappy ST4 )(-red

or maybe one of the newer Rover models available (yet to see in action).
