Owing to Mozilla's half-baked attempts to work towards making Flash content fully "click to play", the recent releases have the untoward feature that some wanted Flash content, eg clips on the BBC site, appear simply as blank black rectangles.

I have discovered how to overcome this niggle.

Go to Add Ons/Plug Ins then find Flash and click on Options.

Untick the check box Enable Adobe Flash Protected Mode and reboot the Browser. All is then well.

The problem with developers imposing on users their own idea of what is, or is not, "not essential to the user" content is that they are likely to get it wrong, as is the case with the BBC site.

Flash needs to be taken out the back and shot in the head for the good of us all

Yes, there is that!
