Sagem ISD3100 with 80cm dish and inverto monoblock

Hi there. I,m Steve and new to the forum. I have a 80cm dish and Sagem box that I havent used for ages. It used to work fine on Hotbird and Astra for the free channels. Just had to move the dish (tree in the way) and got a new monoblock LNB. Silly me, threw away the old one without noting which half of the LNB the clamp goes around. The seller cant tell me, but does it matter anyway? I dont want to be up and down that ladder! :confused:
 
Yes, it does matter. It depends which satellite the dish is focussed on. The easiest way to get it right since the dish is already set up is to try it both ways and see which one works, you may need to swap the diseqc positions over, it depends on the monoblock. Normally the Hotbird LNB is in Diseqc position 1 or A.

Or alternatively get a single LNB and see what satellite you pick up. If you get Astra 19E, then the monoblock goes with the right hand lnb in the holder.

If you get Hotbird, then the left hand one goes in the holder.
 
Depends which Satellite the Dish itself is aligned to.

Looking from the LNB towards the Dish, the right hand portion is always Hotbird and the left is Astra1.

If the Dish is aligned to Hotbird, then clamp the right hand portion.

If the Dish is aligned to Astra 1, clamp the left hand portion.

Cheers guys, but unfortunately because I have resited the dish, I have to find the satellites from scratch. )(-red
 
To keep it simple, you could put a single LNB on it,align to Hotbird, then stick the monoblock on as above.
 
My dodgy memory suggests that it was trained on Hotbird, the weakest one? and that puts, (looking from behind towards the ether), the left hand bit in the the clamp?
 
Astra is weaker, may be worth making that one the main focus.

To make it easy, the Easterly most LNB will point at the Westerly most satellite and vice versa.:)

Correct.

OR

If you want to focus on Asta 19e then the right hand bit goes in the clamp.

With an 80cm dish it doesn't really matter which sat you choose, but Astra would be slightly better I agree.
